Our friends at St. Peter’s Curdridge are holding a summer fayre to celebrate the Royal wedding, but being the cunning people they are they’re holding it a bit later so as you can watch the event itself. So that’s why it’s on Saturday 9th June. 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
Expect the usual church fayre things, lazy afternoon, sunshine, scones, string quartet, bunting, cake and…The Central Hall Community Gospel Choir!
The event will incorporate a short service for folk to renew their own wedding vows, and the choir will sing at and around this.
Report: What a lovely do. The weather was kind and, whilst not packed there were a good number of folk at the fayre. We were kindly given a stall to advertise our wares which we decorated with the wedding flowers and dress from the wedding of one of our members back in the dark ages.
When the time came for the choir to sing in the church the nave was pleasantly about half full, and the audience clapped along and a few danced, which is always the sign that they’re having a good time.
