We’re singing at St. Mary’s South Stoneham this coming Sunday – do tell your friends and family about our concert:
You are invited to join us for a summer afternoon of music and cream tea in the beautiful setting of St. Mary’s Church, Church Close, off Wessex Lane, South Stoneham SO18 2ST
Sunday 2nd July @ 3pm
with the Central Hall Community Gospel Choir and friends
Well done for how you sang at the Choral Festival – there was tons of energy there and you really looked and sounded the part! I couldn’t see the audience but they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Andrea and Cliff said we’ve got the passion – and they really know their stuff so they should know. Big thanks as well to Mark (bass) and Ken (drums). A sweet sound – well done!

Our last concert raised £450 for Comic Relief. Huge thanks to everyone involved for your generosity and hard work. Loved all the variety – singing, dance, ukuleles, games, jokes, great refreshments – all good fun!
COMIC RELIEF: Next Friday 24th is Red Nose Day and you are invited to a Comic Relief Concert at Central Hall, 7.30 pm. Featuring the Central Hall Community Gospel Choir, Parkewood School of Dance, Hythe Ukulele Group and young singers from across Southampton, there’ll be music, singing, a cracking dance show and a cafe. Bring your ukulele too (if you have one) and join in the ukulele jam!
Entry to the concert is £5 per person (children under 16 free).
Have fun – raise money – give it away! All proceeds to Comic Relief.
I would like to invite the choir to my Pancake Party. It’s Tuesday 28/02 5-7 pm at All Saints’, SO16 7DL.
The idea is that everyone chips in with something edible (can be pancakes themselves, or batter, or a filling – savoury/sweet – or a drink) and we share a meal together.
Everyone welcome. (Hint: don’t eat first as there will LOADS of food!)
I have been enjoying singing with you and getting to know the new people this first half-term. Just a reminder that we are NOT meeting tonight as it is half-term. Back to normal next week. Penny
Monday 9th January – 8-10 pm at Central Hall – we’re back for a new term. You are very welcome to join us. You don’t need to bring anything – just come along and sing with some friendly people!
Directions: go down St. Mary’s Place/Evans Street, turn left into St. Mary Street, then immediate right into the car park of Central Hall. The Small Hall entrance is the door on your right.
Parking: you may park at Central Hall if there are spaces. If not, then you can park for free on a single yellow line (try Cook Street opposite). There is a £2 charge on the bays until 8 pm. If you need us to walk you back to your car afterwards, then do say at the rehearsal.
For more immediate updates, check out the choir fb page too.
A few folk from the choir singing on Capital Radio at the farewell of Tom Deacon Friday 23/12/16 (we sang “Goodbye” by the Spice Girls – apparently he loves them!). He was a bit blown away! All good fun!
Carols at Brambridge – and it’s the first time the Sopranos have sung from the back of a sleigh! Well done, everyone who came along! Apparently our singing could be heard from the far end of the car park and the Red Cross lady said she received the most money when we were singing!
Today we are singing at Brambridge Garden Centre in aid of the Red Cross – be there at 3 pm, wearing outdoor clothes and carrying lanterns if you have them! It looks a nice place to sing – apparently we are going to be standing where the compost is! (hope they move it first!!!)
