First rehearsal of the term
0Great to be back after the summer break. Also good to meet Demelza and Weza who came to listen to us. We’ve been asked to sing before their wedding ceremony. It will be an African wedding, so brushed up our African repertoire: African Medley, Siyane Bulisa, Siyahamba etc to name but a few. Penny also introduced a new African song for us to learn that she’d picked up from a Black Voices workshop she attended over the summer! Considering we’d not seen/heard it before we picked it up quite quickly and managed a reasonable run through.

Comic Relief Concert

Great night on Friday for Comic Relief – we played our part and the charity concert raised around £500 – monies still being counted but all in all a fantastic event. The Big band and soloists were on top form as were the young singers and CHCGC! The Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Carol Cunio was in attendance and the evening went with a real swing. There was singing, dancing and tea and refreshments all in aid of Comic Relief

First Rehearsal of the New Year!
0Looking forward to Monday night’s rehearsal. The first one of the New Year. We’ll be concentrating on material for Sally’s party. Meet at Small Hall of Central Hall, Southampton, SO14 1NF. Doors open from 7:50pm. Rehearsal from 8-10pm with break at about 9pm for refreshments and chat. See you there?
